About

The Reader’s Cottage is a 100-year-old gem full of unique features and old Florida charm. Relax on the lush tropical patio, stroll to one of the romantic restaurants of historic downtown Lake Worth Beach, to Bryant Park on the Intercoastal Waterway, or to our gorgeous beach & boardwalk. This super-convenient locale is close to PBI airport, Boynton, Delray, and West Palm Beach.

Good to know

This welcoming cottage has a generous fenced yard and patio. It’s designed to make you feel immediately at home, with everything you need for cooking and entertaining. Books are tucked everywhere, and I hope you’ll enjoy them during your stay... The master queen bed is very comfortable and has an adjustable frame with a remote. The upstairs loft has a large workspace with a printer and extra monitor. Plus an extra long daybed with a trundle that can sleep 2 adults comfortably, but kids love it! Children tend to love the house in general. There is a pack-n-play as well as a few toys and children's books. I also have a gate if you need to block off the stairs. The 3rd room has a separate tv, laundry area, and a wonderful curl-up chaise for reading.

Other Details to Note

Your dog is welcome with an additional cleaning fee of $75 for short stays; $150/month. Please send a special offer including the pet fee with your booking request. The back yard is enclosed but mostly rock. I recommend walking your dog in Bryant park 3 blocks east. There is an extra dog bed in the cottage if needed.

Neighborhood

Lake Worth Beach is one of the few towns on the southern east coast that has retained its quaint historic feel. I fell in love with it immediately. There are lots of good restaurants in close proximity to one another, as well as a wonderful coffee shop and French bakery. There's also a golf course near downtown and the Intercoastal. The old homes here are lovely, especially just north of downtown if you love architecture. Lake Worth is more bohemian than Delray and Palm Beach, which is part of its charm, but these towns are a short drive away when you're in the mood to experience a little glamour.

Stephanie is an amazing hostess. She's very friendly and quick to reply. She ensures guests have a great experience. The house is beautiful. We spent most of our time in the backyard which is a serene area with plenty of seating. All in all a relaxing stay.

From the moment we stepped inside this beautifully restored historic charmer, we felt right at home. The space is full of personality—thoughtfully decorated with cozy touches, vibrant colors, and charming details that made it both stylish and welcoming. Every room was spotless and well-stocked, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The location couldn’t be better—tucked away in a quiet, picturesque neighborhood but just minutes from the beach, dining, and downtown shops. The host clearly takes pride in this home, and it shows. Communication was smooth, check-in was seamless, and every detail was attended to. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic Florida getaway, this is the place to stay.

We just finished 2 months at Stephanie’s cottage. Two years ago we rented for a month. We feel so comfortable in the cottage. While some Airbnbs are very sterile, the cottage makes you feel at home. You can’t go wrong staying here, just hope that we can rent again! So many will rush to get in!

This is a one-of-a kind find and the very best Air BNB I have ever rented. Stephanie's home was cozy, warm and well-stocked. There wasn't anything I needed to cook or serve with that was not provided. I loved using the new air fryer/toaster oven; also, the "Our Place" enamel cookware. Coffee drinkers are provided with a grinder and several coffee brewing options. A generous welcome gift basket included some local beans as well. Stephanie provided a full notebook of information on the house as well as on activities and resources in the area. Walkable to the town of Lake Worth, this historic cottage is also close to beautiful Bryant Park, perfect for children looking for a great playground, or for walking your dog and meeting fellow canine lovers. The back yard garden space was a glorious haven where my dog loved lounging next to me. For public outings, it is easy to walk to the Lake Worth beach. Stephanie supplies everything you might want. Benny's at the Beach is worth the wait.

Was in Lake Worth for the birth of grandson, Stephanie's place was the perfect place for the 2 weeks stay. I needed to work, and the Loft was a perfect spot to work from home. The outside was perfect, and the outside TV was a godsend. Quiet and easy to get in and out. The decor was spot on and took many pictures to "steal" ideas for our place. This was our 4th or 5th rental in the area and by far our best experience.

Small shops and restaurants, a Publix grocery, coffee shops, a large park (great for kids), and the beach are all within a 10-25 minute walk. Seasonally (Oct. to May) there's a farmer's market on Lake Ave near the beach. The cottage is convenient to I-95 (5-7 minute drive) and US 1 (a few blocks away). There's plenty of parking on the street, which I find most convenient. The carport takes some navigation but fits one car if you prefer it. The Tri Rail transit station with trains/buses to Miami or places north is a convenient 1.1 miles away. The new Virgin Atlantic Brightline train is 7 miles away in a clean, fun area of West Palm. I recommend it especially you’re interested in visiting Orlando.
